Before one of my recent trip to Bulgaria, I was surfing the net for information on the country as a whole. I came across the line on property website that claimed "Bulgaria is like Spain 30 years ago. " This set me thinking .........
When I was in his early teens, I traveled around Europe with his younger brother and parents every summer. We would just go with no clear plans as to where we were going to end up, but a rough idea about when we come back, which is basically, when we were down to our last pound note!
We have not had the luxury of me or my children take for granted as today's experienced travelers - like a fresh clean hotel beds and room service. We have had, or over-ladened roof rack, stacked high with our camping gear and clothing, or if we were a little better that summer, we had a second hand caravan hitched to the back of our old cars. I recall wagon has always been sold on our return to tide us over until the dad went back to work.
I vividly remember one summer when my father had ingeniously welded together two vans bread - the bread vans and made them into a camper van, but the really clever bit is, when we arrived at the camp, slipped out the rear section , given twice daily and sleeping area - although not very good for "street development" of two cool 70-teens - I certainly was fun

My point is, we have seen and experienced in those adventures, some of the most traditional and authentic parts of France, Italy and most of Spain.

WC - I remember many with tears in his youth, where I had discomfort in squatting down behind the trees on the side of a dusty Spanish road, with my nether regions exposed to any passing insect or giggling doe eyed Spanish boy, because I simply can not travel farther in search of the English style of sitting on the toilet! We had traveled mile after mile, because I stubbornly refused to use the traditional Spanish "squat pot" - a smelly hole in the ground, with a porcelain tray with dirty marks on both sides, giving you advice about where to put your feet! Yuck! But I wonder, is a tree any better?

During the past three years I have traveled the length and breadth of Bulgaria, on my business trips - not looking for English-style toilet seat, but certainly wishing I could find one! Mile after mile, I refused to visit their "squat pots", but I'm happy to report that are now cottoning - many of the little street cafes and bars of rural areas are now re-equipped, and you can find more and more "real "toilet", and in tourist areas, it would be very unusual to have to go looking for your own private "tree "!

people - one of the things that stands out from my childhood holidays are memories of people in Spain. They are always so Eagar to please, especially when he fled the village. I remember many times when we were given a fruit of the tree and drink from the village, although there was no bar to talk, people really wanted us to meet, discuss and try to us and always shake hands - so I can brag to their friends and relations met aliens! Bulgaria today is very similar.

Many of my clients, but do not want to spend on farming land for generations, are certainly looking for peace and serenity that comes with living in the countryside, whether in Spain in the past, or Bulgaria today, the opportunity to settle in some of the small village of only 30 or 40 minutes from the coast have never been higher. From as little as £ 8,000 or £ 9,000, the British people settled in these villages and breathe life back into these sanctuaries. Renovation and construction of real estate, with their grateful and friendly neighbors, this is a new kind of heaven. You May Have a nice 4 by 4, while your neighbor has a horse and cart, and You May Have a luxurious pool, while your neighbor is an old tin cup in the bath, and your retirement years can buy whole foods in one month - but your neighbors will not mind, they will continue to share what they have, still watch out for you, so you can greet with a smile and handling .....
This is Bulgaria like Spain was 30 years ago? Well, in my opinion, yes, but Bulgaria is moving faster, faster learning and honesty about the fact that Spain had lost somewhere along the way - go and see for yourself - Bulgaria has so much to offer to all
